At the annual celebration of International Day, students learn the geography, culture, food, stories, songs, and dances of children around the world; they learn to "build bridges" in a multi-cultural setting with such building blocks as respect, tolerance, faith, and love for others.

Grace Reynoldson

Christine Holzer

Ms. Holzer uses a variety of techniques to meet the multiple needs of the “emerging readers” as they begin the formalized process of schooling.  Some of the ways students are actively engaged in the learning process include:
~ acquiring the skill of reading
~ authoring stories
~ using game techniques in phonics and math
~ working at computers and listening centers
~ creating inventions
~ studying the world of people and their work
~ comparing units of measurement, time, money
Gloria Guillermo-Garza

Ms. Gloria prepares each child academically, socially, physically, spiritually and helps each child develop a sense of self-esteem, self-confidence, love of self.

At the annual celebration of Chinese New Year, the students learn the culture, language, folk tales, songs, dances, and food of the Chinese.  In addition, the students are learning to "feed the spirit" through the Mass as prayer and to "feed the body" through good daily nutrition.  Spanish vocabulary words for colors, numerals, and greetings are used to enrich the students' experience with language.
